It’s a two-barrel Holley, with automatic choke, that’s set up specifically for the car’s AOD automatic transmission. After I purchased a rebuild kit, I discovered many little things wrong with the carb while rebuilding it, such as bent linkage arms, … You could have rounded up a Motorcraft 2300 carb to stick on it, but the Holley should work equally well once dialed in. The factory reman is indeed a wise move. Hope to hear more about this road warrior in the future! …

I know Mobil1 filter are a bit more pricey but are they worth the extra cash? Are Acdelco filters good? When I got my dealership transmission filter it was an ACdelco. … I WORKED FOR GM, I STILL DRIVE GM. …. I get them at Advance Auto for about $3 I would also use the Motorcraft extended filters. Both good options. Just remember to put fresh oil on the o-ring before putting it on and only hand tighten it. If you put it on too tight you will have a bear of a time …
